Job summary

NuStaff Recruitment is supporting Alliance Finance Department in recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant. The role delivers high-quality financial accounting services across Dorset Police and Devon & Cornwall Police, reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting.

You will lead financial accounting processes, drive improvements, provide technical guidance, and deputise for the Head of Financial Accounting as required in a high-profile public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified CCAB accountant (or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience.
• Proven track record of producing and interpreting complex financial information.
• Strong leadership, communication and ability to develop teams and engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce and interpret statutory financial information and accounts.
• Oversee capital accounting and treasury-related activity.
• Manage statutory returns and liaise with auditors, actuaries and valuers.
