A leading retail company in the United Kingdom seeks a Financial Accountant to ensure the integrity of financial statements, manage budgeting and reconciliations, and support continuous improvement projects. Qualifications

• Professional qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent required.
• Thorough understanding of basic closing routines and general ledger integrity.
• Experience in preparing statutory accounts preferable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure integrity in accounts to support budget-holders.
• Act as key business partner for the Commercial Finance teams.
• Manage budgeting and reconciliation of lease accounting costs.
• Maintain Fixed Asset books and handle queries.
• Prepare month/quarterly balance sheet reconciliation compliant with SOX.
• Prepare local GAAP Financial Statements and liaise with auditors.
• Support continuous improvement projects.

Skills

Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)

Ability to ensure integrity of the general ledger

Ability to analyze variances to budget

Critical evaluation of processes
