Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Kilkeel is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the team in a hybrid role. The successful candidate will lead statutory accounting under UK GAAP, manage UK treasury with multi-currency forecasts, and coordinate audits with internal and external teams.

The role requires a qualified accountant with at least five years of experience in finance, strong MS Office and Excel skills, and a track record in UK statutory compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) required.
• Minimum 5 years related / progressive experience in a finance role.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
• Substantial experience of UK statutory accounting, reporting and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for UK entities under UK GAAP.
• Prepare tax data to external auditors.
• Manage UK treasury including multi-currency cash forecasts and hedging.
• Coordinate site audits with internal and external auditors.
• Manage and review controls to ensure compliance with finance and non-finance teams.
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual government returns including VAT returns.
• Provide coaching and support for the finance team and reports.
• Complete the month end process for general accounting.

Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team.

This is a hybrid* role based in Kilkeel, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

What You Will Do

• Preparation of statutory accounts for UK entities under UK GAAP
• Preparation of tax data to external auditors
• Manage the treasury function for the UK including the preparation of multi-currency cash forecasts and hedging activities
• Co-ordinate all site audits with both internal and external auditors
• Manage and review our controls, working with both finance and non-finance teams, to ensure compliance
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual government returns including VAT returns
• Provide coaching and support for other members of the finance team, particularly those who provide financial accounting data & reports
• Complete the month end process for general accounting
• Perform other related duties as required

Essential Criteria

• Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
• Minimum 5 years related / progressive experience in a finance related role
• Proficiency in all MS Office applications with advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Substantial experience of UK statutory accounting, reporting and compliance requirements, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.

Desirable Criteria

• Working knowledge of SAP UK Tax experience
• Investment appraisal experience
• Power BI experience
• Previous experience in a UK audit practice, with a strong understanding of audit methodology and statutory financial statement preparation and review
