Job summary

SP Transmission PLC in Cambuslang is seeking a Senior Finance Systems Analyst to lead the ongoing effectiveness of financial systems, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and efficient end-to-end processing. You will work with finance system users and SPEN to govern financial processes.

The role requires gathering requirements, coordinating projects, testing, and delivering training and documentation to promote best practice and system performance.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as finance systems analyst, business analyst or finance operations role.
  • Experience supporting an ERP/financial management system with implementation and ongoing support.
  • Relevant role experience in a financial systems environment.
  • Experience managing team members and guiding prioritisation.

Job Title: Senior Finance Systems Analyst

Location: Cambuslang

Salary: from £55,000 + benefits

Contract: Flexible Working Pattern

What you’ll be doing

The role of the Senior Finance Systems Analyst sits within the SPT P&R department reporting to the Regulatory & Finance Systems Operations Manager. They will be primarily responsible for leading the ongoing effectiveness of SPT’s financial, and financially impacted systems, in producing accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and efficient end-to-end processing. The Senior Finance Systems Analyst will be working in conjunction with SPT finance system users, as well as the wider SPEN business that supports the technology and governance of SPT financial processes.

You’ll capture and analyse business requirements, help coordinate project delivery, and support system testing, implementation and business readiness activities. As the Finance Systems subject matter expert, you’ll provide high-quality support to users, resolve system queries and promote best practice through training, guidance and process documentation. You’ll also maintain a strong understanding of finance systems and processes to ensure users can maximise system capabilities and adhere to agreed ways of working. A key focus of the role is driving continuous improvement, data quality and system performance. You’ll identify opportunities to enhance finance processes, maintain business documentation, support system releases and work with stakeholders across the business to ensure finance systems continue to meet operational and strategic requirements.

What you’ll bring

Prior experience of a finance systems analyst, business analyst or finance operations role.

Prior experience supporting an ERP or financial management system, including both implementation and ongoing business support.

Any relevant role experience in a financial systems environment.

Prior experience of activity managing team members, providing guidance, steer, prioritisation and delegation of work activities.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business, IT, or related discipline.

Professional accounting qualifications or courses would be advantageous.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Expertise in SAP platforms.

Understanding of core finance and cost management processes as part of project delivery.

Ability to gather, document and validate business requirements.

Ability to map end-to-end processes and identify improvement opportunities.

Understanding and knowledge of energy markets and the regulatory drivers affecting operation of a Transmission Network.

Ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and run workshops & training sessions for system users.

Proactive nature, with the ability to innovate and challenge in recognition and support of the business model in which SPT is operating.
