Senior Finance Project Manager – CapEx

Our client, a leading organisation in international travel, is currently hiring for a Senior Finance Project Manager to play a critical role in ensuring that major investment projects are delivered with financial discipline and strategic impact.

You’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end Capital Expenditure (CapEx) process across complex programmes, ensuring cost baselines are accurately defined, risks are mitigated, and performance is measured and reported effectively throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate closely with Programme Leadership, Finance, Strategy, and PMO teams to ensure every CapEx investment is financially robust, aligned with business objectives, and compliant with regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial governance and management of Capital Expenditure across assigned programmes.
  • Partner with Programme Control Managers and Project Managers to develop robust CapEx forecasts, budgets, and performance indicators.
  • Ensure all capital investment aligns with regulatory and financial standards.
  • Provide financial leadership and oversight during key investment decision gates, ensuring accuracy in cost, schedule, and quality assumptions.
  • Manage project performance reporting, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in how CapEx is planned, monitored, and reported across the capital portfolio.
  • Support project close-out activities, validating final CapEx calculations and ensuring compliance with financial and governance requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong project management/leadership and/or PMO experience within capital-intensive, regulated, or infrastructure environments.
  • Experience of leading CapEx related projects and initiatives, ideally with highly regulated environments.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills, with high numerical accuracy.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving capability.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and motivated by continuous improvement.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Finance, Business, Engineering, or similar).
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
