Job summary

A leading housing organization in Northern Ireland is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to support the management accounting team. You will prepare journals, manage tenant queries, assist with budgeting, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a 3rd Level Accountancy qualification and relevant experience in a Finance department. This role offers temporary maternity cover with a fixed term of 51 weeks.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in a Finance Department or 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage tenant service charge queries.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.

Job description

Choice is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to support the management accounting team by preparing journals, allocating service charge expenditure, and completing annual service charge calculations. The role manages tenant and leaseholder queries, assists with budgeting, and presents service charge information as needed. The SFO will ensure accurate financial reporting across schemes and provide timely information to support organisational decision-making.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in Journal Preparation for monthly management accounts for review by HOMAC.
  • Allocate and review tenant service charge expenditure per scheme making adjustments as required.
  • Answer tenant service charge queries in a timely manner.
  • Calculate Commercial and Leaseholder service charge on annual basis. Make leaseholders aware of service charge costs and answer any ad-hoc queries.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 3rd Level Accountancy qualification AND 3 years’ experience working in a Finance Department.
  • Or 5 years’ relevant experience in a Finance department.
  • Part way through professional accountancy qualification with CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or CAI
