Job description

We're looking for a hands‑on Financial Controller/ Senior Finanace Manager to lead day‑to‑day financial operations, drive performance reporting, and ensure statutory compliance all while working closely with the Finance Director and Group to support strategy and decision‑making.

As Financial Controller, you'll be the key figure overseeing all aspects of financial management across the UK business and its overseas operations in India and the US. You'll manage a small accounts team, take responsibility for compliance, reporting, and forecasting, and play a vital role in supporting commercial decisions and business growth.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Producing monthly management accounts and weekly performance reports
  • Preparing quarterly forecasts and annual 3-year budgets (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash)
  • Leading the annual audit and statutory accounts process
  • Managing overseas financial operations
  • Overseeing payroll, PAYE, P11Ds and company pension compliance
  • Producing VAT returns and ensuring all statutory filings are accurate and on time
  • Supporting sales with customer finance solutions
  • Managing letters of credit, bank guarantees and insurance renewals
Essential
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven experience managing a finance function within an SME
  • Strong Excel and Sage Line 50
  • Understanding of stock, WIP and MRP systems
Desirable
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP
  • Familiarity with international trade finance (letters of credit, bank guarantees)
  • Awareness of contract income or POC accounting

You’ll be a confident and capable finance leader, comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment and managing multiple priorities. You’ll combine strong technical skills with excellent communication, systems knowledge and emotional intelligence.
