Overview

Job Title: Senior Finance Business Partner - Delivery

Location: Glascoed, Washington, Radway Green

Salary: Up to £68,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

Responsibilities
  • Create and challenge key Integrated Business Plan (IBP) assumptions. Direct, coordinate and undertake the IBP process in the Programme area and challenge and analyse inputs. Define financial planning assumptions with the business as part of strategy setting and clearly communicate.
  • Review programme performance, constructively challenge the business and make recommendations to course-correct, driving improvement from current contracts.
  • Work alongside the Head of NGMS providing financial support and stewardship to all MoD/LDPC activities - NGMS Negotiations, QFR, Annual Reconciliation.
  • Day to day management of 3 Business Partners supporting each of the 3 Integrated Delivery Teams (ATM, HBP, SAA). Lead the team across a diverse workload, prioritise deliverables and set strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Programmes Director in discharging Business Reviews, Challenge and Improvement Initiatives.
  • Review programme performance, constructively challenge the business and make recommendations to course-correct, driving improvement from current contracts.
  • Support, develop and coach a team, ensuring collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and consistently ensure skills and experience are matched with business demands. Partner with senior stakeholders across multiple functions to provide financial insight, challenge and recommendations.
Skills and experiences
  • Experience of Project Finance and strong understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting and reporting processes.
  • Skilled in building productive stakeholder relationships, communicating with impact, and applying critical thinking to drive collaboration and informed decision-making.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (IFRS / GAAP), incl. IFRS15 revenue recognition criteria.
  • Knowledge of how to maximise the use of MRPs/ERPs (e.g. SAP) and financial reporting, forecasting and analytical tools.
  • Drives best practice in establishing and applying financial controls.
  • Qualified member professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

The Finance Munitions Team

Reporting to the Head of Finance - Munitions, this Senior Finance Business Partner position plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of all portfolios within the Munitions business, providing financial insight, challenge and guidance to drive strategic decision making. This role is responsible for leading a team of Finance Business Partners, ensuring value creation across the business.

The Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for growing and delivering the financial returns by identifying and driving improvements to business performance. They provide wider leadership and challenge across the team to embed a value add culture including a focus on delivery of current commitments balanced efficiently with product development and early risk mitigation.

The role requires an inspirational individual with strong leadership skills, responsible for managing teams directly, influencing through strong internal networks within finance and collaboration with other functions. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Project Finance, IDT leads and the Senior Leadership Team.

Experience of managing a large operation in a complex environment, including leading and developing teams and driving change to improve business processes will be a key asset for this role.
