Job summary

A leading consultancy is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central Finance Consultant. This role involves leading implementation projects, mentoring junior consultants, and engaging in pre-sales activities. With a focus on financial processes, you will ensure successful project delivery in a remote environment with occasional client travel. Ideal candidates have over 3 years of experience with Dynamics 365 and a strong client-facing background.

Title: Dynamics 365 Business Central Finance Consultant

Permanent | Remote with Client Travel

Salary: Up to £75,000

I am seeking an experienced Business Central Finance Consultant with strong expertise across the Microsoft Business Applications suite. You will have deep knowledge of financial processes, hands-on experience delivering Business Central projects, and the ability to support full project lifecycles. You will also contribute to team development by mentoring consultants and promoting best-practice delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation projects with a focus on financial modules.
  • Support the commercial team in pre-sales through demonstrations, solution proposals, and scoping sessions.
  • Conduct detailed business process reviews to design tailored and efficient finance solutions.
  • Manage project documentation, scoping, and planning to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Oversee finance module configuration, data migration, and system testing during implementation.
  • Take ownership of project delivery, meeting defined timelines, budgets, and business objectives.
  • Provide post-implementation support, addressing user issues, optimising workflows, and supporting system enhancements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, product updates, and new functionality to drive solution innovation.
  • Mentor junior consultants and support knowledge-sharing across the team.
Key Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central / Dynamics NAV (2013 onwards).
  • Experience delivering 5 or more full lifecycle BC/NAV implementations, ideally finance-focused.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, including General Ledger, AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and Cost Accounting.
  • Experience working with third-party solutions such as Continia, Jet Reports, or similar add-ons.
  • 3+ years' experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Business Central solutions.
  • Strong proficiency with Office 365 and integrations with Dynamics 365.
  • Previous exposure to C/AL development and SSRS reporting (nice to have, not essential).
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or other BI platforms.
  • Proven ability to provide accurate project estimates and deliver within scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring consultants and supporting team capability development.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple industries.
  • Prior experience in a pre-sales or client engagement capacity is advantageous.
