Job description

The Senior Finance Assistant will be an integral part of the Finance team reporting to the Finance Manager. With the corporate office based in the City of London you will be joining the current team of 5 finance professionals in a role that will be diverse, challenging and offers an excellent opportunity for career and professional development. The Finance team is responsible for all internal management reporting and external statutory requirements for several Group entities. Operating entities include SUSHISAMBA City and Duck & Waffle restaurants and bars in the City, SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden, SUSHISAMBA Las Vegas and Duck and Waffle Edinburgh. Licensed restaurants already open include Bahrain, Dubai, Doha & Edinburgh with more openings planned for early 2024.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting of daily, weekly, and monthly sales for the operating entities and licensed restaurants, including sales journal and receipt reconciliations.
  • Cost of sales reporting and reconciliation.
  • Payroll journal and reporting.
  • Ensuring accuracy of accounts payable, including invoice processing, approval requests, supplier statement reconciliations, and preparation of supplier pay runs.
  • Daily bank reconciliations, petty cash, and expense card reconciliations.
  • Inventory and waste reporting.
  • Ownership of the fixed asset register for the operating entities.
  • Accruals and prepayments reporting.
  • Assistance with monthly profit and loss, balance sheet reconciliation and management accounts.
  • Partnering with the business to provide insightful information such as sales actuals versus targets and ad-hoc requests.
  • Assisting with audit queries and providing information requested by external auditors.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years relevant finance experience in a company of similar or higher turnover.
  • Part-qualified or actively studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification.
  • Career-oriented, driven, highly motivated to succeed and develop into more senior finance roles.
