Bupa in London seeks a Senior Finance Applications Specialist to drive Oracle EPBCS-based reporting across management, actuarial, tax and ESG functions. Join the Group Finance Systems team, report to the Head of Management & ESG Reporting Applications, and guide global users to maximize system value.

You will operate and enhance EPBCS modules, deliver Data forms, reports, and training, and collaborate with Finance Transformation and PM teams in a hybrid, two-office-day model.

£70,000 + benefits including up to 10% bonus
Angel Court, London
Hybrid working- minimum two days per week in the office (Monday and Thursday)

In this role, you will be joining the Group Finance Systems team reporting to the Head of Management & ESG Reporting Applications. You will be guiding the finance teams to better use technology to strengthen the efficiency of our Management, Actuarial, Non-Financial Reporting / Carbon Emissions as well as Tax reporting processes.

The Group Finance Systems team is responsible for the operation, enhancement and optimisation of the Group Finance applications that support the areas of Group Consolidation, Planning, Regulatory, Tax, Actuarial and ESG reporting. It also leads initiatives to identify appropriate optimisation opportunities and drive the delivery and configuration of technology solutions to the Group.

ESG, Actuarial and Management reporting are big strategics area for Bupa and needs to leverage technology to enhance and automate data collection and reporting. For this purpose, Bupa has implemented a Global Management, Actuarial, Tax & ESG Reporting/Planning tool (using the Oracle EPBCS cloud platform) to strengthen the accuracy and efficiency of our reporting processes. The Oracle EPBCS tool, which is used by the various Bupa Market Units and the Group teams, is a global strategic tool and will continue to significantly evolve in the coming years.

You will be operating and improving the various modules of the tools, while collaborating closely with our global users and guiding them to make best use of system functionality.

This is an exciting opportunity, requiring you to use your Oracle EPBCS expertise, finance/actuarial knowledge, and good understanding of financial and non-financial data, in order to improve finance reporting teams reporting practices.

How you’ll help us make health happen

As a Senior Finance Applications Specialist, you’ll play a key role in both the day-to-day running and future development of our Oracle EPBCS platform. You’ll:

Change:

• Contribute to/drive the translation of functional requirements and Excel modelling to application design and configuration.
• Participate or lead in new initiatives to identify appropriate technology solutions, working closely with the Finance Transformation and Project Management teams.
• Own a part of the Oracle EPBCS system delivery of new initiatives to deliver benefits to the ESG, Actuarial, Tax and FP&A Reporting teams.
• Lead and own Oracle EPBCS development components including Data forms / Narrative Reports, Data synchronisations and calculations as well as MS Power BI reports.
• Support the testing and end-user training of the new initiatives.

Run:

• Drive the end-to-end process flow and data requirements to support the financial reporting processes in Oracle EPBCS and the inter-dependencies with other reporting processes.
• Support the Management Reporting and Financial Planning processes during peak reporting cycles and key deadlines.
• Take the lead in operating the Oracle applications, ensuring the appropriate controls and governance are in place. Collect (or personally identify), assess and implement functionality improvements and configuration changes to our systems to support a more efficient and easily maintainable reporting process.
• Provide a great level of service to the ESG reporting team, understanding in detail their reporting needs and being the go-to person for all system-related activities

What you'll bring

We’re looking for someone who’s confident working with finance systems and enjoys solving problems. You’ll bring:

• A customer-oriented mindset with exceptional verbal communication skills
• Solid technical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret & present data clearly.
• Strong finance process understanding, at least in one of the following areas: Financial Reporting (Statutory, Regulatory or Management), Actuarial, Tax, Non-Financial Reporting
• Expertise in Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions, with understanding of Groovy scripting being a plus.
• Solid experience of working in a complex and/or regulated environment and delivering and/or operating large-scale finance systems and models
• Understanding of demands faced by a large global company and its financial reporting process
• Ability to manage project schedules and workload within a collaborative team framework.
• Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) will be considered as a plus
