We are LUMINA a start-up redefining the future of heavy machinery through next‑generation electrification and advanced technology. Our mission is to create high-performance, safe, and efficient heavy equipment that leads the industry in capability and sustainability.

We are motivated, highly accountable, and work together to deliver at pace. We offer like‑minded individuals the opportunity to truly own their own area and role within the team; shaping strategy and being fully responsible for delivery.

Together we are Lumina.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in utilising FEA tools to simulate and optimise the structural, thermal and fluid behaviour of components and systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance and safety of our products across various platforms.

What You’ll Do
  • FEA Simulation: Perform finite element simulations on mechanical components and systems to evaluate performance under various loading conditions, including stress, strain, vibration, thermal and fatigue analysis.
  • Model Creation & Meshing: Develop accurate FEA models based on CAD designs, applying appropriate boundary conditions and material properties. Generate high-quality meshes for complex geometries.
  • Analysis & Optimisation: Interpret simulation results, identify potential issues and suggest design modifications. Collaborate with design teams to optimise product performance, manufacturability and cost.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Generate detailed reports with analysis results, visualisations and recommendations for design improvements. Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical design, electrical and hydraulics to ensure that simulations align with real‑world conditions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest FEA techniques, tools and industry best practices. Recommend and implement improvements to FEA processes and workflows.
