About the Role:

Torrens Transit seeks a highly accomplished and strategic Senior Facilities Manager to lead and optimise facilities operations across our six metropolitan depots enhancing service standards and asset value, ensuring safe, efficient, and well maintained environments for our people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Oversee all facilities management contracts, ensuring compliance, value for money, and favourable terms with suppliers and government entities. This includes managing relationships with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and preparing reports to meet government KPIs.
  • Strategic Leadership and Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management strategy aligned with organisational goals. This includes asset management planning, sustainability initiatives, and long term infrastructure planning.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage operational and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring responsible resource allocation and cost effectiveness.
  • Asset Management: Maintain assets according to the asset management plan and contractual requirements; conduct regular reviews and recommend repairs, replacements, or decommissioning.
  • Contractor Management: Manage external contractors, ensuring compliance with Torrens Transit's procedures, including registration, licensing, and induction.
  • Project Management: Plan and execute capital works projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Compliance and Safety: Maintain the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance across all facilities and operations.
  • Continuously Improve: Torrens Transit's facilities management policies, processes and systems, researching and implementing innovative best practices, and compiling comprehensive reports to analyse performance trends and drive proactive improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven Leadership: Extensive experience successfully leading and managing multiple, large scale facilities management operations.
  • Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, project management, and budget control, with a proven ability to develop and implement effective strategies that drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Knowledge and application of relevant asset management principles, government regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
  • Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated skills in cross departmental communication and collaboration, fostering strong working relationships with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite and relevant Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) software, leveraging technology to optimise operational efficiency.
