Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Export Control Officer to join the Export Control Compliance team in the UK. You will provide specialist guidance on export control and sanctions, monitor regulatory developments, and help business units understand obligations to reduce risk and enable compliant activity.

You’ll manage authorisations, screening and technology segregation, and work with cross-functional teams to translate complex rules into practical processes.

Qualifications

• Practical export control experience and regulatory understanding.
• Knowledge of UK export control regulations and their operational application.
• Knowledge of US export control regulations and their impact on business activities.
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into effective business processes and controls.
• Experience supporting export control and sanctions activities, including authorisations and screening.
• Understanding managing non-compliance, containment, corrective actions and disclosures.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and clear communication across audiences.
• Export control training such as ECJU training or equivalent knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on export control and sanctions requirements to the business.
• Monitor UK and international export control regulations, focusing on nuclear and military activities.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of export control strategy, policies and processes.
• Manage export control authorisations and associated briefs.
• Conduct denied-party screening and technology segregation tasks with stakeholders across locations.
• Contribute to training and communications to raise awareness of requirements.
• Engage with regulators and third parties as needed and lead specialist projects.
