Job summary

Senior Events Officer.

Salary: c£36,000 plus £3,333 Inner London Allowance per annum.

Location: London (Hybrid working).

Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months, 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Action for Children as a Senior Events Officer on a Fixed Term Contract. You will both lead and support the delivery of high value fundraising and stewardship events within the team’s UK-wide portfolio and provide exemplary day to day support to some of Action for Children’s closest and most important supporters.

How you’ll help to create brighter futures by
  • Managing and delivering events within the team portfolio, ensuring they are delivered to a high standard, within budget, and leading to successful outcomes being achieved.
  • Building and managing day to day relationships with high value volunteer board and committee members.
  • Taking responsibility for accurate financial management of events, reporting and contingency planning.
  • Preparing reports and evaluations, sharing recommendations and providing regular progress updates against objectives.
  • Using creative, engaging written and verbal communications to negotiate positive outcomes, ensuring clear fundraising messaging and alignment with brand and campaign messaging.
  • Managing relationships with external suppliers and agencies to develop relationships, negotiate costs and contracts to support a strong ROI on events.
Let’s talk about you
  • Essential experience of working on a range of successful fundraising, engagement, and stewardship events.
  • Experience of developing positive working relationships with staff, supporters, donors, and volunteers.
  • Experience of managing relationships and stewardship with high value fundraising committees or boards.
  • Experience of developing compelling fundraising and/or engagement materials.
  • Willingness to work flexible and unsocial hours including evenings/weekends as and when required.
  • Be willing and able to travel throughout the UK; this role will predominantly deliver events in and around the South of England but may require broader travel.
  • Hold a valid driving licence or be open to using suitable methods of transport to enable the duties of the role.
