Job summary

Freyssinet UK is seeking a Senior Estimator to support identification, development, and conversion of tender opportunities into secured contracts. The role involves producing accurate estimates, assessing risk, defining scope, and supporting bid strategy from opportunity through handover.

Based from the Telford or Glasgow office, you will collaborate with Sales, Operations, and the supply chain to deliver robust submissions and informed construction methodologies across complex projects.

Qualifications

• A degree in civil engineering or equivalent in a relevant construction discipline (advantageous)
• Proven ability to develop business within structural repairs and/or specialist construction sectors (essential)
• Multi-disciplinary knowledge across bridge repairs, concrete repairs, bearing replacement, and related areas

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and competitive project estimates to support tender conversion.
• Develop budget indications and pricing options for prospective projects.
• Assess tender risks and opportunities to ensure a robust estimating function.
• Work with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to produce high-quality submissions and methodologies.
• Develop relationships with prospective clients and supply chain contacts.
• Maintain involvement in uncovering sales opportunities with customers.
• Define and quantify scope of work and prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Engage with Operations for input and sense checks on estimates.
• Ensure bid governance requirements are implemented and followed.
• Contribute to contract negotiation and handover of successful bids to Operations teams.
