Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks a Senior Estimator for its Infrastructure practice across Rail, Airports, Highways, Power, Water or Utilities. Roles available in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester, with potential UK-wide remote estimating work.

You will deliver cost plans and detailed estimates, supporting major programmes while adhering to best practice in estimation. Ideal candidates have proven infra estimating experience, familiarity with industry software, and membership or progression

Qualifications

• Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
• Experience providing estimating and/or QS services in large project environments.
• Experience with estimating software packages.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely manner.
• Control and manage the estimating process at project level.
• Produce estimates without supervision and promote estimating best practice.
• Support achievement of departmental objectives and stay updated on technical developments.

Opportunities are available in ourLondon, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchesteroffices.

Estimators at Turner & Townsend make the difference for our clients by supporting them as an embedded resource within their organisation or through ad-hoc pieces of work for multiple clients across the Infrastructure sector as part of the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub. Although our work is predominantly for UK-based clients, as workload requires, our Estimators have the opportunity to work remotely (from the UK) on estimating tasks for our clients across the globe.

Our team deliver a wide range of Estimating outputs for our clients, to support their decision making, including:

• Estimate Production (from Order of Magnitude estimates through to detailed estimates built up from first principles)
• Estimating Support to Major Programme Set up

As anEstimator at Turner & Townsend you will be responsible for:

• Production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely and efficient manner.
• Control and management of the estimating process at project level;
• Production of estimates without management or supervision;
• Supporting development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend;
• Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives;
• Staying abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to be able to give best practice advice in line with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience
• Relevant successful experience of provision of estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment;
• Previous experience of working with estimating software packages;
• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or working towards
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB /A. Cost E.
