Job summary

First Military Recruitment is partnering with a national construction business to recruit a Senior Estimator based at Swindon. The role offers £80,000–£85,000 plus a £6,325 car allowance, with a 37.5-hour week.

You will work with the Bid Manager to develop cost estimates, price alternatives, and prepare labour/subcontractor costings, ensuring governance and compliance across bids. Benefits include pension matched up to 8%, 25 days leave plus buy/sell options, private medical insurance and 24/7

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction estimating.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Understanding governance for bid processes.
• Proficiency with estimating software packages.

Responsibilities

• Follow company governance procedures at all times.
• Co-ordinate with Bid Manager to ensure competitive pricing.
• Agree methodologies with planner and Bid/Design Manager.
• Advise on cost-effective design options and price alternatives.
• Prepare labour and material costings and supplier quotations.
• Develop local rates and check temporary works requirements.
