Job summary

ITS (Cheltenham) Ltd in Wolverhampton is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead tender submissions for high-value construction projects, overseeing cost plans and pricing strategies from enquiry through to bid submission.

You will coordinate with pre-construction, supply chain and operations, ensuring commercial accuracy and robust allowances while mentoring junior staff and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience as Estimator or Senior Estimator in main contracting sector.
• Strong ability to price construction projects valued at £10m+.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods and procurement routes.

Are you an experienced Estimator ready to take the next step in your career, or an established Senior Estimator looking to join a highly regarded contractor with an impressive pipeline of major projects?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing main contractor seeking a Senior Estimator to join their Wolverhampton-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to become a key part of a well-established pre-construction function, working on high-profile construction projects valued in excess of £10 million across a variety of sectors.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in securing future work by leading the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission. Working closely with senior management, pre-construction teams, supply chain partners and operational teams, you will help shape winning bids while ensuring commercial accuracy and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the preparation and submission of competitive tenders for major construction projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation to assess project requirements.
• Producing accurate cost estimates and pricing strategies.
• Managing the enquiry process with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and alternative construction solutions.
• Assessing project risks and developing appropriate allowances and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborating with operational teams during tender handover and project mobilisation.
• Supporting business development and pre-construction activities where required.
• Mentoring and supporting junior estimating staff.

• Proven experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role within the main contracting sector.
• Strong experience pricing construction projects valued at £10 million and above.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods, procurement routes and market conditions.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyse complex information and produce accurate cost plans.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
