Senior Estimator - Infrastructure - Solihull
Location - Solihull, West Midlands
What you will be doing:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Estimator to join our pre-construction team in our Solihull office. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders that align with client requirements and support the strategic goals of the business. Your expertise will directly contribute to securing high-quality infrastructure projects, ensuring the company achieves its targeted turnover, profit, and sustainable year-on-year growth.

  • Manage and prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions from first principles.
  • Develop tender win strategies and generate commercial approaches to secure work at sustainable rates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners.
  • Identify opportunities for margin improvement and assess project risks, producing supporting risk registers.
  • Contribute to post-tender interviews, negotiations, and successful project handovers to delivery teams.
  • Create innovative solutions to differentiate bids and strengthen competitive advantage.
  • Produce site prelim estimates and ensure all submissions meet bid and corporate standards.
  • Gather feedback from completed projects to inform and improve future tenders.
About you:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with experience using the Candy estimating system.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts, specifications, and the overall estimating process.
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness, technical expertise, and effective risk management.
  • Skilled in communication, including influencing, negotiation, collaboration, and delegation.
  • Well‑organised with strong analytical, decision‑making, and time‑management abilities; professional qualifications desirable.
