An educational institution in the UK seeks a Senior Estate Warden to manage and maintain campus facilities. Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance tasks, ensuring security, and supporting staff safety. Required qualifications include GCSE in English and Mathematics, practical maintenance skills, and a driving licence. This is a dynamic role involving varied hours and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
The growth in terms of student intake has put very real pressure upon the maintenance of buildings, grounds and services, caretaking, security, portering and cleaning; and has shown the need for a high level of teamwork, flexibility, loyalty and co‑operation. Any person appointed as a Senior Estate Warden will be part of the Estates and Facilities Management team and will be expected to play their part in the constant battle to keep the College buildings and grounds in the best possible condition and appearance, as well as ensuring the necessary support to all other staff, including their safety. The work will involve a wide range of duties, and hours of work that will vary on a weekly cycle between early morning starts and late evening finishes, including some weekend working. Specific duties will vary according to the times of the day when on duty and will be assigned by the Facilities Manager who will be responsible to the Estates Operations Manager for the effective and efficient service provision.
For the successful candidate a conditional offer of work will be made. Our offer of work will be conditional upon a number of mandatory pre‑employment checks, to include but not limited to: DBS, Barred List check, right to work check, internet search, TRA check (academic posts).
Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific place (i.e. the College). This role is classed as working within Regulated Activity. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
