Job summary

S&P Global is seeking a Sr Specialist, Equity Research to lead a portfolio of European and UK equities, delivering market-moving dividend forecasts and actionable insights for institutional clients.

You will build client relationships across buy-side and sell-side, author research reports, and develop financial models to improve forecast accuracy, while collaborating with global teams to deepen understanding of dividend policies and positions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of financial statement analysis and equity research, with academic or professional experience in equity markets.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including construction and maintenance of financial models.
• Proven ability to communicate directly with clients and company contacts, with strong written research and report-writing skills demonstrated in a professional or academic context.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent analytical tasks to tight deadlines, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and data integrity throughout.
• CFA qualification or equivalent postgraduate study in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Practical experience using VBA, SQL, or Python for financial data analysis, modelling, or process automation.
• Knowledge of equity derivatives and their application within investment or trading decision‑making workflows.
• Experience using AI tools for analytical automation or workflow efficiency.
• Fluency in one or more additional European languages (e.g., Spanish or French).
• Prior experience in a buy-side or sell‑side equity research role covering European or UK-listed equities.

Responsibilities

• Forecast dividend payments across European and UK equities using bottom-up financial statement analysis, earnings call insights, market news, peer benchmarking, and historical distribution patterns.
• Build and sustain institutional client relationships across buy-side and sell-side firms, responding to research enquiries and delivering insights that directly support trading and investment decisions.
• Author client-facing research reports that highlight significant dividend developments, emerging sector trends, and market shifts across your European and UK coverage universe.
• Develop and enhance financial models to improve forecast accuracy, estimate quality, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with sales and product teams on initiatives to grow revenue through targeted client engagement and to enhance the product experience in collaboration with technical specialists.
• Collaborate across S&P Global — working with research and data teams globally to generate new research ideas and maintaining direct dialogue with company contacts to deepen understanding of dividend policies and financial positions.
