UNISON’s Equality Unit in London is seeking a Senior National Officer to lead equality, inclusion and member participation, inspiring a team and shaping campaigns to make UNISON a more representative union.

You will manage staff supporting equality groups, work with colleagues to develop strategies to increase participation, and contribute to negotiating and bargaining plans. The role demands strategic thinking, political awareness and strong people management.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in equality campaigns.
• Ability to analyse complex information and develop strategic plans.
• Experience designing performance standards and monitoring.
• Strong people management in politically sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Equality Unit and manage a team of staff.
