We are recruiting a Senior Environmental & Sustainability Advisor for an established heavy engineering and manufacturing organisation in Glasgow.
This is a senior, environmentally focused position for someone who can take ownership of the environmental agenda within a complex operational environment.
The organisation already has an established Health & Safety function. The requirement now is for an experienced Environmental professional who can provide the specialist knowledge and leadership needed to develop its Environmental Management System, strengthen environmental compliance and support the business on its journey towards ISO 14001 accreditation.
A key part of the role will be assessing the organisation's current environmental position and helping to build the systems, processes and documentation required to establish a robust Environmental Management System.
We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Environmental or Environmental & Sustainability professionals who have worked within a complex industrial environment.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, practical and confident, with the credibility to engage equally well with operational employees, engineering teams and senior leadership.
You should be comfortable challenging existing practices when required, able to explain the reasoning behind your recommendations and confident taking ownership of the environmental agenda rather than waiting to be directed.
The initial requirement is for 6 months, although there is potential for the assignment to extend depending on both the individual and the requirements of the business.
The organisation is flexible around engagement and can consider candidates interested in a Fixed Term Contract, PAYE temporary assignment or contracting inside IR35.
If you are an experienced Environmental professional looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely influence how environmental management and sustainability are developed within a major industrial organisation, we would be keen to hear from you
