Job summary

WSP UK is looking for a senior leader to drive environmental projects within major infrastructure, development and regeneration programmes. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, shape project definitions and deliver governance-backed, high-quality outcomes for esteemed clients such as National Grid and Great British Nuclear.

You will mentor future leaders, strengthen client relationships and expand opportunities while benefiting from a culture of collaboration, mentoring and flexible working

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading environmental projects or workstreams within complex infrastructure, development or multidisciplinary programmes.
  • Strong environmental background across areas such as EIA, contaminated land or similar environmental specialisms.
  • Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and integrating environmental inputs to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
  • Solid project leadership capability across governance, planning, risk, programme and delivery management.
  • Confident, collaborative leader with experience in client engagement, stakeholder management and developing others.
  • Chartered, or working towards chartership, with a relevant professional institution.

  • Influence client, project and stakeholder decision-making, driving engagement, shaping strategy and strengthening relationships across the project lifecycle.
  • Strengthen client relationships and grow future opportunities by positioning WSP as a trusted delivery partner on complex programmes.
  • Champion excellence across the EPM team by mentoring future leaders, building capability and raising the standard of delivery.

A little more about your role...

Step into a senior leadership role at the heart of some of the UK’s most complex projects, from nationally significant infrastructure to major development and regeneration programmes delivering innovative, integrated solutions for esteemed clients such as National Grid, Great British Nuclear, and Tier-1 Contractors. You’ll be part of our growing Environmental Project Management (EPM) team, working alongside a supportive community of experts, combining environmental insight, project leadership and commercial thinking to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients and communities.


Working in collaboration with major infrastructure, energy, transport, water and development clients you’ll shape how projects are defined, pursued and delivered bringing environmental thinking in early where it adds the greatest value. You’ll build trusted relationships, influence decisions and make a visible impact at every stage, helping to strengthen partnerships, grow our services and extend WSP’s impact across the sectors and communities we serve.
