Job description
Senior Environmental Manager

We are searching for an experienced Senior Environmental Manager at our Bristol Temple Quay facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

RPS is looking for a Senior Environment Manager to join our Environment & Infrastructure Team. You’ll be leading on the management and delivery of key projects across the UK, helping clients obtain environmental consents, including for national infrastructure schemes and renewable energy projects.

What you’ll be doing

As a key position, you’ll facilitate the integration of consents and consenting activities into project delivery across design, assessment and construction. You’ll work with clients on consent applications and compliance, and collaborate with our environmental teams on delivery programmes and schedules. You may act as project manager or project director, being the main client point of contact, managing stakeholder interfaces and financial performance of your projects.

Key responsibilities

Given the nature of the role we’re looking for someone who is highly organised, an excellent communicator and leads projects from the front. You’ll need strong knowledge of environmental requirements during major development and infrastructure projects in the UK. A degree (or equivalent) in an environmental or related subject is expected; an MSc or further professional qualifications would be helpful but are not essential. Experience delivering consents under hybrid bills, DCO, TWA and TCPA planning regimes is highly desirable.

What’s in it for you?
  • Competitive salary: £55,000.00 – £65,000.00 per annum
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Option to purchase up to 5 extra days per year
  • Company pension scheme, Group Disability Scheme, Share Incentive Scheme, Life Assurance
  • Cycle to Work Scheme, Health Screening, Employee Assistance Programme (including wellbeing initiatives and mental health support)
  • Dental Cover, Professional Memberships, access to BenefitHub offering discounts, cash‑back offers and rewards
  • Accredited training provider – opportunities from entry level to master’s degree level professional qualifications in leadership & management and executive coaching & mentoring
  • Personal development plan and transparent career pathway

We encourage and value different ideas, perspectives, and styles of thinking. You’ll be joining a diverse community that puts people first and prioritises their wellbeing.

We understand the need to work flexibly – we offer agile offices and hybrid working. This is a workplace that works for you.
