Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Project Development Environmental Specialist to lead environmental assessments and EIA coordination for wind energy projects in the UK and Ireland. You will act as an environmental advisor to internal teams and external partners, guiding site selection, design evolution, and risk management.

Based in the UK or Ireland, the role involves collaboration across engineering, grid, land, and planning teams, with travel within the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in environmental field or related discipline.
• Minimum of five years in environmental consultancy or renewable energy development.
• Solid understanding of UK/Irish planning and consenting regimes.
• Knowledge of EIA processes, environmental legislation, planning policy and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and GIS for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental deliverables for onshore wind projects across the UK&I.
• Provide environmental advice to inform site selection, design and risk management.
• Collaborate with engineers, legal and planning teams to embed environmental constraints.
• Manage environmental consultants to deliver outputs on time and within budget.
• Support post-consent activities, including planning condition discharge and compliance.
• Stay current with environmental legislation and renewable energy consenting requirements.
