Job summary

A local council in Hampshire is seeking a qualified Principal Environmental Officer to manage pollution-related casework. This role offers £50+ per hour with hybrid working arrangements, requiring 2 days in the office and the remainder remote. Qualifications

• Qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHO) or Environmental Protection Specialist with relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of legislation and practice in Environmental Protection.
• Comfortable managing complex and sensitive casework.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the delivery of casework relating to Air Quality and Environmental Permitting.
• Providing expert advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Managing a varied caseload and ensuring compliance with statutory duties.
• Mentoring a small team of Officers.
