Job description
Senior Engineers – Mechanical Engineering – Northern England – Permanent

Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer at an international Defence and Weapons Systems Company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution.
  • Specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing.
  • Providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.
  • Ensuring that commitments are agreed, reviewed and met.
  • Mentoring junior engineers regarding technical matters.
  • Making presentations effectively to technical and management audiences and staying abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
  • Author/co‑author technical reports, papers, patents and presentations as required.

Key skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical or Science subjects.
  • Ability to design documentation and present to customers and wider groups.
  • Strong engineering calculation skills.
  • Experience with engineering life‑cycle.
  • Proficiency in CAD and MS Office; comfortable with other IT applications.
