Here at the Mick George Group we are currently recruiting a Senior Engineering Surveyor to join the Contracting department.

Location: Mick George Contracting sites

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5pm

Pay: Dependent on experience.

Role Purpose

The Senior Engineering Surveyor plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of construction projects through precise measurements, layout, and surveying techniques. They are responsible for setting out works, verifying dimensions, and providing technical support to on-site teams. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and regulations in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, supervise and mentor Junior Engineers within the group, work with and assist other technical department within the group
  • Oversee the technical aspects of the works from the design to keeping good records for progress and as built surveys.
  • Relay the project information to the site teams that ensures best practice within the group
  • Maintain the dimensional accuracy of sites
  • Work closely with the planning and commercial teams to deliver best practice within the group.
Skills & Qualifications Required
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card or similar accreditation.
  • Experience as a site engineering surveyor in the construction industry, with proficiency in setting out works and conducting surveys.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, instruments and 3D software, including AutoCAD and GPS systems.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
Desirable
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in civil engineering, surveying, or related field.
  • Professional membership of relevant industry bodies
  • Machine control experience
  • Drone Flying experience / pilot licence
