Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist to join their London team. The role covers ground investigation, engineering geology, technical reporting and project delivery across major infrastructure and development projects in London and the wider UK.

You will manage GI projects, oversee logging and reporting, and contribute to ground models and technical proposals, with opportunities for progression into project management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject.
• Strong technical and written communication skills.
• Experience managing projects and supervising junior staff.
• Significant experience within engineering geology or geotechnical consultancy.
• Good understanding of UK ground conditions and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising ground investigation projects from planning through to completion.
• Engineering geological logging of soils and rock.
• Developing and interpreting ground models.
• Reviewing GI data, laboratory results and factual reports.
• Producing high-quality interpretative and geotechnical reports.
• Providing engineering geological input into design and construction projects.
• Undertaking site inspections and supervising contractors.
• Managing project programmes, budgets and client requirements.
• Liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and engineering geologists.
• Contributing to technical proposals and winning new work.

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior Engineering Geologist to join their established ground engineering team in London.

The role will involve a mixture of ground investigation, engineering geology, technical reporting and project delivery, working across a range of major infrastructure, commercial and development projects throughout London and the wider UK.

The Role

• Managing and supervising ground investigation projects from planning through to completion
• Engineering geological logging of soils and rock
• Developing and interpreting ground models
• Reviewing GI data, laboratory results and factual reports
• Producing high-quality interpretative and geotechnical reports
• Providing engineering geological input into design and construction projects

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
• Significant experience within engineering geology or geotechnical consultancy
• Strong ground investigation and engineering geological logging experience
• Experience producing factual and interpretative reportsGood understanding of UK ground conditions and relevant standards
• Experience managing projects and/or supervising junior staff
• Strong technical and written communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
