Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Senior Weapons Integration Engineer for our Boscombe Down site. You will conduct hazard-based evaluation and testing of OME integration across multiple aircraft platforms and deliver risk-based reporting.

The role requires aerospace/electronic engineering experience, OME certification knowledge, and familiarity with military or civil aircraft systems. Site attendance is three days per week with 37 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OME Certification and qualification processes.
• Understanding of military or civil aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard-based evaluation and testing of the integration of OME on aircraft platforms.
• Ensure equipment and systems are safe for flight and fit for purpose.
• Perform evaluations on Transport, Combat, Helicopter and Unmanned Aircraft platforms.
• Deliver technical hazard and risk-based reporting.
• Assess newly introduced aircraft for integration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard-based evaluation and testing of the integration of OME on a wide variety of aircraft platforms
• Ensure equipment and systems are safe for flight as well as fit for purpose
• Perform evaluations on Transport, Combat, Helicopter and Unmanned Aircraft platforms
• Undertake a range of evaluations encompassing single equipment or role-related changes to a platform
• Provide assessments of newly introduced aircraft and deliver technical hazard and risk-based reporting

Essential experience

• Skills, knowledge and experience of Aerospace Weapons Integration
• Significant on-the-job experience working in the Aerospace Engineering domain
• Experience of OME and tactical employment of Air Weapons
• Knowledge of complex electronic hardware, communications, displays, controls and mission systems, sensor and warning systems
• Knowledge of OME Certification and Qualification
• Knowledge of military or civil aircraft

Essential qualifications

• Aerospace or Electronic Engineer [ONC, HNC or HND], nationally recognised (EngTech/Ing) or working towards that accreditation
• Chartered Engineer (desirable)

Role specifics and site

This role is 37 hours per week based at Boscombe Down with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. We can accommodate candidates working from our other UK hubs including Bristol, Salisbury, Waddington and Warton.

MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site focusing on testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems with extensive flight-testing capabilities.
