A prominent engineering solutions provider in the UK is seeking a skilled Senior Engineer to provide Technical Authoring support for a critical nuclear project. The role demands at least 4 years of experience in the nuclear sector and a Chartered Engineer qualification. This full-time position offers competitive pay and requires onsite presence in Warrington for at least 3 days a week.

Senior Engineer – Technical Author Support (OB Leak TO-264)

£50-55/hour | Inside IR35

Warrington – Minimum 3 Days On‑Site

Clearance: BPSS (Minimum)

We're supporting a key Sellafield programme and are looking for a high‑calibre Senior Engineer to provide full‑time Technical Authoring support to the OB Leak TO‑264 team. This role suits someone self‑motivated, highly capable, and confident working autonomously on complex technical packages with minimal oversight.

What We're Looking For
Background
  • Chartered Engineer (any discipline)
  • Nuclear industry experience – ideally MSSS / Silos exposure
Experience

Candidates must have at least 4 of the following:

  • Technical Assessment & Review
  • Study Delivery
  • Strategy Development
  • Technology Development / R&D
  • Plant Trials
  • Early design delivery (Study & Concept phases)
  • Project or Programme Management
The Role

You'll support the Technical Team managing the leak within the MSSS Original Building, taking ownership of defined work packages and driving them through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver allocated packages of work autonomously
  • Scope and specify technical tasks
  • Produce and present NFRs and technical reports
  • Check, review, and assure work completed by other team members
  • Plan forward scope and support transition into design / projects
  • Engage with regulators on assigned work packages
  • Perform the work directly - with only ad‑hoc support available

This is a role for someone who thrives on responsibility, delivers high‑quality technical output, and is comfortable operating independently within a critical nuclear environment.
