A local government authority in the UK is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the Structures team within the Roads and Transportation service. This role involves overseeing the design of new works and conducting assessments for bridges and other road-related structures. An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer within the Roads and Transportation service leading the Structures team. Working as a key member of the Roads and Transportation service you will assist the Design Engineering Manager deliver one of the key functions of the service.
Responsible for the leadership of day to day activities of road related structures dealing with the design of new works, general and principal condition assessments and design of maintenance activities for bridges and other roads related structures.
Applicants require to be registered with the Engineering Council at Chartered Engineer level, have knowledge and experience of bridges and other roads related structures, project management skills with a working knowledge of contract management and well-developed communication skills with the ability to manage multiple demands under pressure and meet targets.
A working knowledge of H&S legislation and a high degree of understanding relating to frontline risk management and experience of managing a team although not essential is desirable.
