Job summary

A global aerospace and defence organisation is seeking a Senior Engineer for Nuclear Safety Regulations on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will provide specialist advice on nuclear safety, oversee nuclear regulation, and interact with various stakeholders. This role offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to work on complex projects. The position is contracted for 13 months with a pay rate of £66.12 per hour inside IR35.

Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Senior Engineer Nuclear Safety Regulations and interface to add to their talented, hardworking team in Barrow in Furness on a 13 month contract. Rates

66.12 per hour inside IR35 / umbrella

The role

The Nuclear Safety and Regulation Department oversee the nuclear regulation for site. They exist to provide specialist advice to the business with regards to nuclear safety and site licensing and is a key part of maintaining the license to operate.

  • Providing Support, independent advice, and guidance on the requirements of the Nuclear Site License, Authorisation and Environmental Permits to relevant business teams to ensure compliance with both statutory and contractual obligations
  • Influencing business management arrangements and ways of working
  • Interfacing with a broad diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and authorities
  • Leading/participating in regulatory inspections and regulatory forums
  • Field verification activities including process confirmations
Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience in a nuclear or high hazard regulated industry
  • Experience of technical / report writing and persuasive written argument
  • Experience in providing technical advice
  • Stakeholder management experience - working with various internal and external stakeholders at a range of levels incl. Contractors, Directors, Regulators etc
  • Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements
  • Ability to conduct gap analysis and provide recommendations for improvements
