Responsibilities
- Implement innovative fixes, even when they have not been previously attempted.
- Respond to incidents and rectify technical problems to keep infrastructure solutions running smoothly.
- Identify where performance can be optimised and security risks minimised.
- Analyse patterns and trends in repeat issues to recommend changes.
- Manage relationships with customers, external teams and suppliers.
- Collaborate with colleagues to configure, install and reconfigure database and related products.
- Translate architect’s drawings, diagrams and data flows.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
- Create, assess and update technical and functional documentation.
- Introduce the latest technologies to the team.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in an agile ITIL environment supporting systems operations in an enterprise setting.
- Expert Microsoft product certifications and practitioner‑level knowledge of programming, hardware, software and Cloud systems.
- Experience with Azure/AWS cloud deliverables and working in a cloud environment.
- Experience with monitoring applications and reporting tools.
- Core skills in general infrastructure, networking principles, backup solutions such as VEEAM, AD/WINTEL, DNS, Group Policy and PKI certificate authentication.
- Analytical mindset well‑versed in problem and incident management.
- Strong written and verbal communication at all user levels.
- Ability to write KBAs and high‑ and low‑level technical documentation.
- Authority technical adviser influencing teams on best technical solutions and process improvements.
- Experience in a high‑pressured, fast‑paced team.
- Level 3 Information Communication Technician or equivalent qualification.
- Agile & ITIL Foundation level.
- Microsoft role‑based certification – Expert level.
Technical skills
- Write KBAs and technical documentation.
- Provide authoritative technical advice and influence teams.
- Microsoft role‑based certification – Expert level.
- Practitioner level knowledge of hardware, software and systems.
- Substantial experience in relevant roles, cloud and secure environments.
- Experience in a high‑pressured, fast‑paced team.
Security requirements
- All employees must obtain the highest level of security clearance; a comprehensive vetting process is required.
- SC clearance is mandatory; DV clearance may be required longer term.
