Job description
Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Gloucester

Salary: Competitive plus benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Gloucester. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, working closely with clients and delivering high quality design across a wide variety of development schemes. You will play a key role within the civil engineering team and continue progressing your technical and leadership skills.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will manage your own workload while supporting engineers and apprentices on live projects. You will lead the delivery of civil engineering design for residential, commercial, industrial and mixed use developments, preparing technical reports, drainage strategies, infrastructure layouts and detailed construction drawings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain broader project exposure and progress towards chartership if you are not already chartered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver highways, drainage, earthworks and external works design across a range of development projects.
  • Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and undertake drainage modelling using MicroDrainage.
  • Write Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements and SuDS strategies.
  • Carry out swept path analysis and support horizontal and vertical alignment design.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and local authorities throughout project delivery.
  • Support junior engineers and contribute to team development.
  • Prepare technical submissions for S38, S278, S104 and other approvals.
  • Undertake feasibility assessments and attend site reviews.
