Job description

The electrical engineering team is responsible for the delivery of complete design of the electrical systems, spanning system architecture, sub-system and components, equipment specification and selection, data and analysis to support the design development and providing design assurance to ensure safe and reliable electrical plant for the SMR.

What We're Looking For

Provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of Electrical Systems for the SMR nuclear power plant. This covers the delivery of the complete design of the Electrical systems, spanning system architecture, sub-system design and equipment specification and design / selection to realise the final verified design of the power station. You will do this by working closely with the engineering teams from across the power station and applying a structured systems engineering approach to design.

Previous experience within the nuclear industry is desirable, however, a proven record of working across the electrical system lifecycle in a regulated Industry (e.g. Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Automotive, Oil & Gas etc.) would be a benefit for the role. Hold a degree level qualification in electrical engineering or a related subject. Applicants without a degree who can nevertheless demonstrate suitable experience may also be considered.

Requirements
  • Obtaining Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
  • Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check

Salary And Package
  • We anticipate paying a salary between £51,600-£67,725 DOE
  • Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
  • Benefits Allowance - £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  • Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.

  • Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
  • £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
