Job summary

Avant Homes, based in the East Midlands head office in Nottingham, seeks a Senior Engineer to join our Technical team. You will coordinate technical design and analysis from planning through construction, ensuring delivery on multiple residential developments.

You will manage engineering requirements, feasibility studies, regulatory approvals, and stakeholder communications, with strong knowledge of planning policy, Building Regulations, NHBC, and CDM.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential housebuilding and senior engineering roles.
• Knowledge of planning, foundations, roads and sewers in developments.
• Full UK driving licence and familiarity with Auto CAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Managing and reporting all engineering requirements per company policies.
• Producing feasibility studies and technical investigations for Land Appraisals.
• Managing technical and regulatory approvals, adoptions, bonds and reimbursements with KPI reporting.
• Active stakeholder communications with internal and external teams.

Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Technical team based at our East Midlands head office in Nottingham.

The Role

Are you an Engineer with experience in the housebuilding industry, ready to take the next step into a Senior role?

Are you capable of coordinating technical design and analysis on a variety of projects from planning through to construction phase?

Joining our team as Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Managing and report all engineering requirements as per company policies and processes.
• Assisting in the production/procurement of comprehensive feasibility studies and technical investigations for inclusion in Land Appraisals.
• Managing technical and regulatory approvals, adoptions, bonds and reimbursements and provides key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the engineering function.
• Actively manage communications and operational interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, consultants and support site teams.
• Ensui ng that all necessary utility/services/supplier enquiries, quotations, acceptances and approvals are obtained.
• Assisting in the delivery of effective and relevant legal documentation for each development or phase of development.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful as our Senior Engineer, you will possess excellent communication skills (to include relationship building), proven and documented knowledge of all elements of residential developments such as environmental planning, ground & contaminated ground conditions, foundations and roads & sewers etc.

To be considered for this role you should also possess;

• A full UK driving licence
• A working knowledge of all Auto CAD and MS Office packages
• Good awareness of codes of practice that impact on technical matters e.g. Planning policy, Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc.
• Good knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations
• HNC/HND or degree equivalent is desirable but not essential
