Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Highways team at Union Street, London. You should bring strong expertise in highway geometry, pavement design, drainage systems, and a solid understanding of UK legislation, TfL Streetscape standards, and DMRB compliance. As a Senior Engineer you’ll take the lead in designing, assessing, and delivering highway projects across the city, managing your time with broad autonomy.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake work requiring the application of principles in a wide range of contexts and demonstrate creativity in applying solutions.
  • Manage multi‑disciplinary project inputs, ensuring programmes are met and quality outputs delivered.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, reporting and advising on SHE issues, and attend internal and external meetings on behalf of TKJV.
  • Ensure designs comply with current UK standards including DMRB, TSRGD, Manual for Streets, and local authority requirements.
  • Build and consolidate networks within the industry and across TKJV to enhance understanding and knowledge of expertise.
Qualifications
  • Incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEng MICE) with relevant experience or significant practical experience in a similar design consultancy.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status with the ICE or equivalent.
  • In‑depth understanding of DMRB, Manual for Streets, TfL Streetscape and other relevant UK standards and regulations, including Disability Confident.

Hours

Permanent, Fulltime (40 hours per week) with some flexibility on hours available if desired.

Salary & Benefits
