Job summary

Solirius Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering Practice. You will work with a collaborative team, contributing across the full development lifecycle from design to deployment on client projects.

You should have strong Java experience (Java 7/8+), familiarity with front-end frameworks, Spring, REST, and cloud platforms. You will communicate with clients and peers, champion engineering best practices, and continuously improve delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java in real-world projects.
• Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular/React or similar).
• Proficient in Spring, REST, and data persistence (Hibernate/JPA).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with Docker and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Proficient in unit testing and TDD/BDD practices.

Responsibilities

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Software Engineering Practice as a Senior Engineer, to work alongside our team and help build out the capability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working across the full lifecycle from requirement gathering and design, through to coding and into testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Liaising with management and stakeholders on client requirements and understanding team objectives.
• As a consultant with Solirius you will have exposure to a variety of projects and challenges
• Championing and contributing towards engineering best practises across our team and projects.

Key Skills/Experience:

You need to be technically sound but also be able to convey your knowledge and expertise to clients internally and externally. In terms of specific languages you should have commercial experience in some or all of the following;

• Java 7/8 to current
• Applied knowledge of front end frameworks (Angular, React, other similar)
• Spring framework or Jax-RS, Jax-WS, JPA
• Rest, Hibernate, Docker, Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, development and deployment in a cloud environment
• SQL
• TDD/BDD
• Experience of working with cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS, GCP is beneficial)
• Experience in unit testing frameworks (Karma, Jasmine or others)
