Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Senior Engineer for a Nuclear/Defence Civils project based in Glasgow. This permanent role offers a salary up to £55,000 per year plus a £5k car allowance or a company car.

You will support delivery of construction activities, perform setting out using GPS, and review RAMS while maintaining high HSE standards. The role requires SC clearance and experience on civil/infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
• Experience on civil infrastructure or construction projects.
• Knowledge of setting out techniques and GPS equipment.
• Experience with QA/QC processes.
• Strong HSE compliance understanding.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Assist site teams in the successful execution of project works.
• Provide engineering support and technical guidance at the point of delivery.
• Set out and survey using GPS and surveying equipment.
• Monitor quality control standards across site operations.
• Locate and identify buried services to support safe excavation and construction activities.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor compliance.
• Review RAMS and ensure adherence to procedures.
• Promote a positive health, safety, and environmental culture on site.
• Assist with temporary works activities and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Accurately record and report site progress, issues, and engineering information.

Role Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
• Assisting site teams in the successful execution of project works.

Essential requirements

• MUST be able to get Security Clearance (SC).
• Experience working on civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.
• Knowledge of setting out techniques and engineering surveying practices, alongside GPS equipment and setting out instruments.
• Experience of quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Knowledge of buried services location and safe excavation practices.
• Able to review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements within a construction environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft 365.
• SSSTS or SMSTS
• CAT and Genny

Desirable

• Working towards membership of a professional civil engineering institution
• NRSWA qualification.
• Temporary Works knowledge or experience.
• Relevant vocational qualifications in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
