Job summary

Green Barks Search is recruiting Senior Engineers to join a leading earthworks team on the HS2 project. You’ll ensure earthworks are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a landmark infrastructure project while further developing your skills.

This role offers mentorship of junior engineers, collaboration on 3D models, RAMS and QA processes, and potential work on Sizewell C and Lower Thames Crossing beyond HS2.

Responsibilities

• Conducting site surveys (GNSS) and setting out for earthworks, including batter rails and travellers.
• Reviewing 3D machine control models and collaborating with the Foreman to decide on optimal construction methods.
• Preparing RAMS, plans, and ensuring all QA processes (ITPs, checklists) are in place before works commence.
• Performing soil quality checks and providing recommendations for material suitability based on test results.
• Supporting near- and long-term rolling-wave planning, including mass-haul planning and constructability assessments
• Mentoring junior engineers and fostering their development through on-the-job training.
