Job summary

WSP in the United Kingdom is seeking a Programme Planner with experience in energy transmission and distribution to join our Energy Networks team.

You will develop, maintain and challenge robust project programmes, coordinate with project managers, design managers and delivery teams, and support bid work. The role offers hybrid working across UK offices and opportunities to shape major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and maintaining project programmes for UK energy transmission and distribution projects.
• Minimum of an HNC in a relevant engineering, construction, project controls or planning discipline.
• Knowledge of UK regulated and non-regulated transmission and distribution sectors, including design management and interfaces.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 to build logic-linked programmes and manage dependencies.
• Proactive planning approach, able to create and test programmes, not just update records.
• Experience liaising with project managers, design managers, technical teams, clients and stakeholders; NEC4 contracts knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Development, maintenance and challenge of robust project programmes with clear logic, dependencies and critical path activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, design managers, technical leads and delivery teams to define deliverables, design review periods, client approvals and programme assumptions.
• Identify and manage programme interfaces, constraints, risks, opportunities and change impacts across teams and stakeholders.
• Create, develop and manage fully integrated project programmes with resource loading, levelling, milestone tracking and progress forecasting.
• Monitor, control and report progress against baselines, including analysis of float, slippage, and forecast completion dates.
• Support project controls activities by providing programme inputs to cost forecasting, resource planning, change management and project reporting.
• Sequence design activities, manage interfaces and support timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Support bid teams in developing tender programmes, planning assumptions and delivery methodologies.
• Support consultancy services to clients through frameworks, focusing on programme planning, reporting and controls.
