Job summary

Engage People Recruitment partners with an international energy trading business in London seeking a pricing and structuring specialist. You will work with trading and origination teams to price contracts, assess risks and unlock value in each deal.

The ideal candidate has strong energy market experience in trading or risk, excellent modeling skills, and fluency with Excel, Python or SQL. Power markets knowledge in GB/Ireland is a plus.

Strong energy market experience and a background in trading or risk management? We’re working with an international energy trading business looking for someone who can bring market knowledge, valuation skills and commercial judgement to its pricing and structuring team.

You’ll work closely with trading and origination teams to assess new opportunities, price energy contracts and understand the risks and potential value behind each deal.

What you’ll be doing

• Valuing and pricing energy contracts across renewable power, wind and solar balancing, and battery storage.
• Assessing deal-level risk and how new opportunities fit into the wider trading portfolio.
• Analysing power, gas and carbon markets to inform pricing and commercial decisions.
• Building and improving valuation models, including cash flow modelling, scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.
• Presenting pricing recommendations and explaining the key assumptions, risks and trade-offs.

What we’re looking for

• Strong energy market experience, with a background in trading, trading risk, pricing or structuring.
• Commercial acumen — you understand what drives a deal’s value, where the risks sit and how contract terms affect the outcome.
• A solid grasp of valuation concepts and risk management.
• Knowledge of power markets, ideally in Ireland and/or Great Britain.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience using Excel, Python or SQL.
• Clear communication and the confidence to explain your thinking to trading teams and senior stakeholders.

Experience with PLEXOS, forward power markets, PPAs or battery storage contracts would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.
