Job summary

CMS seeks an Associate or Senior Associate (3+ PQE) to support the Planning team in consenting major energy, infrastructure and development projects across Scotland and the UK. You will lead with partners on DCOs, CPOs, planning applications and inquiries, with exposure to EIA, HRA, and marine licences.

The role offers a dynamic, client-facing environment within a hybrid working model, with clear progression in CMS’s leading energy practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 3+ PQE and experience in planning and energy consenting.

Responsibilities

• Lead/assist partners in planning team on major energy, infrastructure and development projects.
• Work on development consent orders (DCO), compulsory purchase orders (CPO), planning applications and appeals.
• Engage in s36 consents, marine licences, EIA and HRA, and related inquiries and transactions.
