Job summary

Wirral Council is seeking two emergency planning professionals for a six-month fixed-term contract to lead a focused programme of plan development. Hybrid working, with a mix of remote and in-office days, will apply as part of the role.

The role centres on drafting, reviewing and updating emergency plans, ensuring alignment with Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and current resilience guidance, with some training and horizon-scanning tasks also involved.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience writing or contributing to emergency plans, business continuity plans or similar documents.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders to gather information and translate source material into usable documents.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and update emergency plans per work programme, consulting services and partners.
• Support training sessions and horizon scanning as part of resilience work.
• Contribute to live incident support and multi-agency exercises where needed.
