Job summary

At MFS, we are seeking an experienced trader to join our global institutional trading function. The role covers developed market rates, FX and money markets, translating investment decisions into execution to improve outcomes for clients.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of trading experience in asset management or related sectors, strong knowledge of liquidity, derivatives and electronic/voice trading, and a disciplined approach to execution and controls. Hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of relevant trading experience within asset management, hedge fund, investment bank or treasury.
• Solid understanding of pricing, liquidity, market microstructure, derivatives, and electronic and voice trading.
• Disciplined approach to execution quality and controls.
• Ability to draw conclusions from market data and communicate clearly.
• Experience using order and execution management systems.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills, with constructive challenge.
• High standards of integrity, discretion and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Execute portfolio decisions across a broad range of instruments including rates, FX and money markets.
• Monitor market conditions, central bank activity and economic releases.
• Develop and maintain relationships with banks, brokers and liquidity providers.
• Deliver market colour, trade ideas, liquidity assessments and implementation advice.
• Contribute to pre- and post-trade analysis and discuss execution options.
• Advise on trends and opportunities to improve execution outcomes.
• Partner with colleagues to evaluate options across electronic, algorithmic, RFQ and voice channels.
• Drive improvements to systems, analytics, automation and controls.
• Support securities lending exploration and cross-desk coverage during peak periods.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, operations and technology to ensure controlled trading.
