Job summary

Cisco Systems Limited seeks an experienced EMEA Privacy & Data Regulatory Legal Counsel to align Cisco's privacy program with evolving AI governance and data protection regimes across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

You will partner with Government Affairs, Product, and Legal teams to influence regulatory guidance, shape industry standards, and de-risk emerging technologies while supporting commercial velocity and regulatory responses across the region.

Qualifications

• Law degree with active Bar admission in good standing in a UK or EMEA jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of privacy and data regulatory experience across EMEA.
• Experience managing international data transfers and global accountability frameworks (EU SCCs, DPF, BCRs).

Responsibilities

• Provide Regulatory Counsel: privacy, data protection, and AI governance guidance across EMEA (including UK/EU).
• Champion Privacy by Design: embed privacy and security by design in Cisco products and lead DPAs/TIAs.
• Lead Cross-Border Governance: ensure compliance for data transfers (EU SCCs, DPF, BCRs).
• Shape AI & Digital Policies: translate EU AI Act, NIS2, DORA, Data Act into product guidance.
• Enable Commercial Velocity: resolve data processing and residency-related inquiries with customers.
