Redline Group are supporting a global engineering organisation in Wales to recruit a Contract Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++) based in Cwmbran. This senior, hands-on contract role involves working across complex embedded systems and influencing technical decisions with electronics, firmware and software engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong embedded C/C++ development experience.
• Experience with microcontrollers and RTOS.
• Proven ability to translate specifications into software requirements.
• Hands-on debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across hardware, firmware and software teams.
• Experience in multidisciplinary product development environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software solutions using C/C++ on complex products.
• Work with microcontrollers, RTOS and embedded systems.
• Translate product requirements into clear software and system requirements.
• Contribute to architecture across embedded electronic products.
• Review designs and challenge implementations throughout development.
• Support hardware/software/processor and component decisions.
• Resolve complex technical issues across software, firmware and electronics.
• Assess platforms and identify needed development or architectural changes.
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware, Product/Programme/Quality teams.
